The Rugs is a UK rug shop. We sell rugs for every room in your home: living room and bedroom rugs, kitchen and hallway runners, washable rugs and outdoor rugs, from doormats to extra large living room rugs.
What to know before buying a rug
Start with the room and the size. Measure the space, and if you are caught between two sizes, take the bigger one. Then check the pile height, which most of our product pages list in millimetres: a low pile is easy to vacuum and clears a door, while a shaggy pile is deeper underfoot. Look at the material and whether the rug is washable, and on wood or LVT put a rug gripper underneath to help stop it sliding.

Buying a rug you cannot touch
Four things people ask us before they order, answered here rather than by email.
Will the colour match my room?
Sometimes it will not, and we would rather tell you that here. Screens vary, and cream can read whiter on a phone than it does in your living room. Look at the room photos as well as the flat shot, and if you can, hold the screen next to something cream you already own.
If the shade is wrong when it arrives, email us within 30 days and we will arrange the return.
Will it feel thin?
Most of our product pages list the pile height in millimetres, so you can check the depth before you buy. A low pile is not a lesser rug. It clears a door, it is easy to vacuum, and you can still do your hoover lines.
Will the edges curl?
It arrives rolled, so expect a crease or a slight lift at the corners at first. Lay it flat, face up, and walk on it. Creases usually settle within a week.
If a corner is stubborn, roll it back on itself the other way for an hour, or weight it overnight with a couple of books. A rug gripper underneath helps stop it sliding on wood or LVT.

What if it does not turn up?
If it stalls with the courier, email us at info@the-rugs.com and we will chase it ourselves, then send a replacement or refund you. You should not have to argue with a delivery firm on our behalf.
