Why You'll Love It

  • A chunky loop texture. Sahara Plain has coarse loops in earthy taupe, inspired by natural, earthy landscapes, and edges finished with a shepherd stitch for a handcrafted look. It brings warmth and character to a living room, bedroom or hallway.
  • This is a low pile rug at 10mm. The loops sit flat and firm, they do not catch on doors, and the rug is quick to vacuum, so it works in busy rooms and homes with pets. If you want something deep and plush to sink your feet into, this is not that rug, and our shaggy range is.
  • Machine tufted in Belgium. Made from 100% polypropylene at 1.69 kg/m², so it has a solid, weighty feel, with a soft felt backing that cushions each step and helps the rug sit flat. All four edges are overlocked with an English stitch.
  • Easy to live with. Anti-static, non-shedding and stain-resistant, so the loops stay neat with a regular vacuum. It is suitable for use over underfloor heating, and it is fully recyclable at the end of its life.
  • Tested for harmful substances. Certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, so it is suitable for bedrooms and homes with children and pets.
  • How to clean it. Small (80x150) can go in a 7 kg home washing machine, and Medium (120x170) needs a 9 kg or larger machine: wash at 40°C max, then tumble dry low or hang to dry. Large (160x230) needs a commercial machine, and Extra Large (200x290, 240x340) is not machine washable, so vacuum it regularly and use a professional cleaner.
  • Colour you can plan around. The earthy taupe tone sits well with warm white or greige walls, dark wood and cushions in cream, rust or olive. Screens show colour differently, so if you are matching a sofa or paint colour, look at the room photos as well as the close-ups.
  • Five sizes. From Small (80x150) by the bed or in a kitchen to Extra Large (240x340) for an open-plan living room. Measure your space first: in a living room, the rug should sit under at least the front legs of the sofa.

  • We provide a Free UK Delivery service for all rugs within the UK Mainland. Orders placed before 12 pm will be dispatched on the same day. Please be aware that our couriers do not make deliveries on  bank holidays.
  • Some areas are considered as rural areas by the courier companies. An extra charge is applied for these areas. The shipping fee will be displayed on the checkout page depending on your postcode.
  • We hope your rug arrives smoothly, but if anything seems off, please reach out to us within 14 days so we can make it right. This helps us work with our delivery partners to resolve things quickly for you.

Refund:

  • Once a refund has been issued; whether due to a cancellation, return, or any other reason, the transaction may take approximately 3-7 business days to reflect in your account, depending on the policies of the bank used.

Return:-

While we’re sure you’ll love what you’ve ordered, we understand that sometimes you might have second thoughts. We accept all return requests within 30 calendar days from the date the order is delivered.

  • For small size rugs ( up to 90 cm width ), you can directly go to the Royal Mail website to book your free return label. You can use this link.
  • Simply type ” The-Rugs” as the retailer name and fill in the required information such as order number and full name.
  • Once you generate your return label, you can drop your order at any convenient post office.
  • For bigger sizes, please contact us with your order number, so we can arrange a collection from your address.
  • Please make sure that the item is well-packed in order to prevent any damage. If we receive the returned item damaged, no refund can be issued.
  • For the orders that have been delivered out of the UK (Europe, USA, etc.), the return postage is the responsibility of the buyer.
Machine Wash & Care
We suggest you unfold your rug as soon as possible to allow it to begin settling. You may notice lines or creases in your rug when you first lay it out. These are completely normal and not permanent. Depending on the tension of the fold, it can take a few days or week to completely flatten. Please also check our Rug Care Guide for detailed instructions.
